Dog Paternity Test with Mother
From only S$380 with results in 15 working days
If you have concerns or uncertainties regarding the parentage of a litter, including the potential for a multiple-sired litter, a Dog Paternity Test can provide the necessary answers and clarity.
This type of testing is highly valuable for breeders as it ensures accurate breeding records, allowing them to provide DNA certified pedigrees to purchasers. By offering reliable and trustworthy pedigrees, breeders can establish a solid reputation built on credibility and trust, while ensuring the authenticity of the dog’s pedigree and ancestry.
The Science Behind the Dog Paternity Test
Our Dog Paternity Test offers a convenient and reliable method to determine the parentage of a dog with high accuracy. By analyzing DNA markers, specifically 16 genetic loci, inherited from both the dam and sire, we employ polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology to provide precise parentage confirmation.
The test package includes testing of the suspected sire, dam, and the progeny (puppy) at a price of S$380. With all three individuals tested, we can confidently confirm parentage with a probability exceeding 99.99%.
If there is a need to test additional sires or puppies, each additional test can be performed for an extra fee of S$150.
It is crucial to include both the mother and the potential father in the testing process, even if the mother’s identity is known. This comprehensive approach enhances the accuracy and reliability of the results. By incorporating the mother’s sample, we eliminate her genetic contribution, reducing the likelihood of falsely confirming a sire as the biological father.
In cases where the dam is missing or there is a possibility of closely related potential sires, extended testing is necessary to ensure conclusive results. This ensures the highest level of accuracy and helps address complex scenarios where standard testing may not provide definitive answers. Our aim is to provide you with reliable and trustworthy information regarding the parentage of your dog, ensuring peace of mind and facilitating informed breeding practices.
No matter if your dog is a mixed-breed, purebred, or designer breed, this test is tailored to suit their genetic background. By uncovering their unique genetic makeup, you can gain a deeper understanding of their heritage and potential health predispositions, assisting you in providing the best care possible.
With the Wisdom Panel Essential Dog Breed Test, you can embark on an exciting journey to explore your dog’s genetic history, unlocking a world of valuable knowledge about their breed composition and characteristics.
Dog Parentage Test Without the Mother
In situations where the dam is not available for testing, our Dog Paternity Test can still be conducted with extended testing. This extended testing involves analyzing an additional 12 genetic markers to establish accurate parentage. For more details about this option, please refer to our Dog Paternity Test without Mother page.
Extended testing may also be advised when the potential sires are closely related, such as in the case of brothers, as their DNA profiles can exhibit significant similarities.
It’s important to note that there are additional fees associated with extended testing. If you believe the possible sires are closely related, we recommend reaching out to us through our contact information. We will be happy to discuss the available options and provide you with detailed information regarding the associated costs.
Ensuring accurate parentage determination is crucial, and our team is here to assist you throughout the process.
How to Collect DNA Samples
For accurate results and to minimize the risk of cross-contamination, it is crucial that the dogs being tested refrain from eating, drinking, or having contact with shared toys or bones for at least an hour prior to sample collection.
To collect the samples, securely hold your dog’s head in place and use the sterile mouth swabs provided in the testing kit. The kit includes comprehensive instructions, as well as registration forms for you to complete before sending the swabs back to our facility for analysis. These instructions will guide you through the proper procedure for swabbing your dog’s cheek and ensure the samples are collected correctly.
Our aim is to make the sample collection process as simple and straightforward as possible while ensuring accurate results. Please follow the instructions carefully, and if you have any questions or concerns, our dedicated support team is available to assist you.
Dog Paternity Test Results
Once we have sent out the DNA samples to our laboratory and they have completed the analysis of the DNA profiles, you will receive an email containing a detailed parentage report. This report will confirm the results for each tested puppy and/or sire.
If the parentage report states that parentage qualifies, it means that both the father and mother matched the puppy at all 16 DNA markers, establishing their genetic relationship.
On the other hand, if the report indicates that parentage does not qualify, it means that the mother matched the puppy, but the sire did not. This exclusion confirms that the tested sire is not the biological father of the puppy.
In cases where you suspect a multiple sired litter and the potential sires are closely related, we have the option to utilize an additional 12 genetic markers. These markers can help us determine the true biological sire among the closely related candidates.
