How the DogCheck 4.0 Genetic Disease Test Works
When you order the DogCheck 4.0 Genetic Disease Test, you will receive a sample collection kit with detailed instructions, allowing you to collect your dog’s buccal swab sample at home—no veterinarian required.
After collecting the sample, simply follow the instructions in the kit to return it to the laboratory.
Your results will be emailed to you within 4 weeks after the lab receives the samples.
The results report includes a comprehensive list of all diseases and genetic or hereditary traits analyzed, along with your dog’s genotype for each and the corresponding interpretation. For disease-related markers, the report also provides a clear explanation of the terminology used in the genotype interpretations.

Limitations of the DogCheck 4.0 Genetic Disease Test
- This is not a diagnostic test. Although it analyzes 220 diseases and genetic traits and provides valuable information to help you support your pet’s health and well-being—with guidance from a veterinarian—it cannot be used to diagnose any specific disease or genetic disorder.
- The test does not cover all known canine diseases or genetic conditions. Results should always be reviewed with your veterinarian. A normal result does not guarantee that your dog is free from diseases that are not included in the test. If your dog shows any symptoms, please consult your veterinarian immediately.
