1. Scope of Services

We provide DNA testing services, including but not limited to:

  • Legal paternity/maternity testing (for use in court or government applications, e.g., child custody, immigration, or citizenship applications).

  • Peace-of-mind testing (for personal knowledge only; not admissible in legal or official matters).

  • Animal DNA testing (for pets, breed identification, or lineage purposes).

Each type of test has different requirements and levels of reporting. It is your responsibility to choose the appropriate service for your needs.

2. Legal Testing vs. Peace-of-Mind Testing

  • Legal DNA Testing: Requires proper chain of custody, identity verification, and collection by an approved third party. Results are admissible in courts and for official applications.

  • Peace-of-Mind DNA Testing: Samples may be self-collected. Results are for personal use only and carry no legal standing.

VertexDNA is not responsible if you order the wrong type of test or attempt to use a peace-of-mind report for legal purposes.

3. Client Responsibilities

By using our services, you confirm that:

  • All information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.

  • You have obtained all necessary consent from individuals whose samples are being provided for testing.

  • You will not use our services for unlawful purposes.

We reserve the right to refuse service if consent or legal authority is unclear.

4. Confidentiality & Data Protection

We respect your privacy and protect your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. Payment & Refund Policy

  • All fees must be paid in full before testing begins.

  • Testing begins only after payment and sample receipt.

  • Once analysis has started, no refunds will be issued.

  • In cases where samples are insufficient, contaminated, or unsuitable for testing, we may request resubmission at an additional cost.

6. Test Results & Limitations

  • Test results are based on the samples received. We are not responsible for errors arising from mislabelled, tampered, or contaminated samples.

  • DNA testing, while highly accurate, is subject to scientific limitations. VertexDNA makes no guarantee that results will be accepted by third parties beyond the scope of testing requested.

  • For legal cases, it is your responsibility to confirm that our testing reports meet the requirements of the court, government agency, or requesting authority.

7. Turnaround Times

Estimated turnaround times are provided for convenience but are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to sample quality, shipping, or unforeseen laboratory issues.

8. Liability

VertexDNA shall not be held liable for:

  • Any misuse of results by the client.

  • Any legal or personal disputes arising from the use of our services.

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from testing or website use.

Our liability is limited strictly to the amount paid for the testing service in question.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and reports, are the property of VertexDNA and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written consent.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from the use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
